The Rat King needs your help to reach the heavens! He is building a tower, and you, as his counselor, have 30 days to build as many floors as possible. You will have access to various types of structures, such as farms, temples, and residences while managing the use of resources and the growth of the rodent population.

The central theme of the game is the construction of a tower, using the labor and bodies of its residents, under the orders of a cruel aristocrat. The player will strategically choose which floors need to be built, to maximize the production of bones.

Throughout the game, random events will appear for the player, who must choose between two options. The choices accumulate and remain applied to the tower and its residents until the end of the game.

This is a grim humor game, which uses the myth of the rat king as a backdrop for its story. However, it is important to state that I condemn any type of violence against animals of any species. Rodents are one of my favorite animals, and this is one of the reasons why they illustrate this project 💗🐭

This game was developed exclusively by me, over 9 days during the 73rd edition of Godot Wild Jam. The theme of the event was “Tower”.

I particularly like games with grim humor and slightly macabre themes, and I brought the myth of the rat-king to this game, serving as a backdrop for the logic of a monument being built with the dead parts of its own residents.

Special thanks to my friend Rafael for the testing and feedback! ❤

Nicely executed, simple, but well polished.

I enjoyed this game a lot, the art style has a lot of charm and it was easy to understand and a solid game in general, my personal best was 37 after playing it a couple times.

Well Done!
